Chapter 1
The noisy café had lines of sumptuous dining booths which Holly innocently glanced across as she walked towards the kitchen. With a silent surge, the whole room morphed into the tranquility of her parent’s lounge and sitting on the old green and blue sofa was Jane from university. Holly floated down next to her to discuss the cancelled dinner menu, at which point Jane simply removed her clothes and turned to face her, naked. The sofa was shaped like a bath, and Holly was transported back to Jane’s apartment, washing the poor girl as she had done many months before.
Holly woke and stared at the ceiling as Jane drifted away and the reality of the night came back to frustrate her. She had gone to bed earlier than normal, around ten, hoping to get a good night’s sleep before her first day at Millsum Cavendish, but according to her bedside clock it was only just after midnight. She rolled over away from the clock and from memory again ran through all the items on her checklist that she had written out in preparation. She had driven from her rented house to the office two days ago and knew the route as well as an alternate in case of a traffic jam. She had picked out the skirt, blouse and underwear for her first day, along with the black court shoes with the two inch heel to give her a professional appearance. She would get up at six fifteen, even though she wouldn’t need to be there until nine. That would give her enough time to shower, have breakfast, text a ‘good morning’ to Ricky and attend to any last-minute emergencies before setting off at eight fifteen for the twenty minute journey. She glanced over her shoulder; twelve twenty. She pulled the covers up to her chin and drifted back to a dark, dreamless sleep.
She woke again after what felt like only a few minutes. A glance at the clock showed two twenty-seven and she grunted in frustration, but not before opening one eye to confirm that it was still dark and that her alarm clock hadn’t frozen and made her late for the first day of her new corporate life.
She exhaled at the thought of Ricky, her boyfriend of two months and son of the CEO of Millsum. Their chance meeting had blossomed into a relationship of trust, understanding, humour and amazing sex. Ricky was Holly’s second partner and had brought her out into a dazzling, sunny landscape of sexual exploration, honesty, and for the first time, sexual satisfaction. She slipped her warm hand between her legs and felt her nakedness, the brief patch of dark curly hair and the smooth, sleek lips of her pussy. She rubbed gently but immediately knew that she didn’t want to masturbate. Sleep was more important, especially since her blonde-haired boy Ricky had been in her bedroom on Saturday night and she had orgasmed blissfully at least three times while they made love. The thought of the pleasure of that evening sent her back to sleep, dreaming of Jane, the girl she had aided a few months prior when she had found her incapable and dumped in the bushes.
Goddamn, now it was just before four in the morning and remnants of the evening when she found Jane flitted through her mind. She pursed her lips, thinking about her actions that night and her decision to strip naked and get in the bath with the girl. It seemed OK at the time, but if a man had done the same thing there would have been hell to pay. Holly thought about getting up, maybe she could make some tea but then decided that she would definitely be fully awake if she got out of bed and went downstairs. This had to be the worst night’s sleep she had experienced ever. Even just before her final exams she had slept soundly and had woken refreshed and ready for the day. She would text Sam when she got home in the evening and thank him once again for the introduction to Millsum’s CEO. She wondered what Ricky was doing at that moment, thought about texting him then decided that it might wake him if his phone chimed when the text arrived. She smiled, thinking about the look in his eyes when he knelt above her in this very bed, looking down at her body as his cock pointed towards her, so very hard, bobbing gently with his pulse and lust. She drifted off again with the thought of him in her mouth, her lips wrapped around the bulging end, warm, soft, manly and all hers.
The alarm buzzed at six fifteen and annoyed her as she pressed the snooze button, then opened her eyes and squinted at the curtains, confirming that it was indeed morning. She then remembered why that Monday was so special and jumped out of bed energized, refreshed and full of the vitality of a twenty-three year old. She slipped on a dressing gown and opened the curtains a little so she could inspect the day while she brushed her long, dark hair. The sky looked cloudless and potentially offered a warm, mid-June Monday. She went downstairs to the bathroom for a shower before making coffee which she drank back up in her room, naked again while checking email on her PC and various messaging and text apps on her phone. With her feet on the desk she leaned back in the chair and texted her usual good morning message to Ricky, then gave him a very short version of her news. She doubted if anyone could see much through the window at that time of day but the thought of being naked and possibly secretly observed gave Holly a strange kind of thrill, which she had experienced many times in the past two years at the house. She dressed, double-checked her list of to-dos for the morning and left the house at ten past eight after briefly greeting Suzy, who was the other tenant at the house she rented.
The position at Millsum Cavendish was titled ‘Event Manager’ and the first few weeks would be spent learning internal systems, the needs of key clients and standard practices for providing those clients with event and marketing services. On arrival, Holly reported to the Human Resources department at exactly nine o’clock and spent the next two hours drinking coffee, shaking hands and filling in forms relating to her bank account, health preferences and pension needs. The IT department had set up her network ID and were on hand to show her to her desk and get her logged in to her laptop. Holly was then greeted by her manager, Lloyd, who introduced her to the rest of her team before spending most of the afternoon in his office reviewing existing projects, their main clients and Holly’s first projects.
Holly left Millsum at just after five that first day and felt elated. She had a lunch to organise for the following week for twenty people for a client along with a presentation in a meeting room at the same restaurant. Then she would begin planning for the main conference for her team that year, the Blockchain Banking Conference i
n Atlanta, where more than five hundred of the world’s top banking and technology professionals were expected to attend over a period of three days in early November.
The rest of the week fell into a new pattern for Holly: work, dinner, catch up with people then bed. Ricky was in constant contact but his job at an investment trust took him to cities in Europe and Asia, and he was on a one month London and Frankfurt trip during that first week of Holly’s new job, so she didn’t expect to see him for another three weeks. They spoke on the phone at weekends and texted each other constantly in between. The separation was unfortunate but enabled them both to focus on their careers while still remaining devoted to each other.
The dinner and meeting the following week went well and Holly and her team received praise from the client for a job well done. It was at the beginning of the third week that serious planning began for the Atlanta conference and on Tuesday morning Holly hosted her first meeting with the conference sponsor and her team.
Chapter 2
“Hi, this is Holly Craig, who else is on the call?” she asked, sitting down with Lloyd and Sean in the conference room.
“This is Maggie Johnson, Blockchain Banking.”
“Hi Maggie, this is Holly, I have Lloyd and Sean here with me,” said Holly happily.
“Hi Holly, and congratulations on joining Millsum. I’ve heard a lot about you!” said Maggie.
“Thanks Maggie, good to talk to you.”
“Andrea’s here too, I’m still in London though,” said a happy voice.
“Hi Andrea! Thanks for getting on the call. Looks like we’re all here,” said Holly, reaching for her notes. “So, just to set the stage, the Blockchain Banking Conference in Atlanta is scheduled for public attendance between Tuesday November 14th and Thursday November 16th. We expect many attendees to arrive several days before, such as Saturday and Sunday, for private meetings that are outside the scope of this call.”
“Holly, will your team be there for those?” asked Maggie.
Holly glanced at Lloyd who nodded. “Yes, we’ll have representation and some support for those days but we’re not expecting any formal meetings. We’ll assist where we can but we’ll be there setting up primarily.”
“OK, great, thanks,” said Maggie.
“We have one main hall for two keynote speeches on each of the three days and sixteen breakout rooms with three main tracks. Ushers and greeters will be locally sourced but under Millsum’s control. Sean, do you want to add anything?”
Sean shrugged but had a few items of interest. “The conference center wireless systems will be free of charge to attendees with a date-sensitive password. Same in hotel rooms but wired access will be charged at the regular hotel rate. All cabling for presentation rooms is provided by the hotel back to the central Speaker Ready room. We’ll rent the registration laptops, badge printers and so on from the local supplier and use their staff, along with the Presentation Distribution System.”
“Great, thanks Sean,” said Maggie.
There was further discussion about catering, easy chairs, informal meeting areas, entertainment, parking, airport transfer costs, emergency procedures and other key issues before the call ended. Sean left the room while Lloyd and Holly sat talking and running over the key points of the meeting.
“I got the sense that Maggie expects you to go to the hotel several weeks before the conference,” said Lloyd as he looked through his notes.
Holly smiled. “I thought that too, maybe when I speak to her tomorrow I’ll mention it?”
“Yes, good idea, thanks.”
“Should I take Sean?”
“No, I don’t think so, but ask him to review the template for the Blockchain conference. It will have ‘lessons learned’ updated from last year and you should review them to make sure we don’t repeat the same mistakes this year.”
“OK, will do, thanks,” said Holly.
“Hey, and that was a good call, Maggie sounded positive and relaxed with you in control. When you do your review visit you can choose when you go but just be sure to meet all the people you need to see. Usually we go out there first thing in the morning, stay the night and come back late the next day. Remember that between Millsum and Blockchain we’re pumping about two million dollars into the hotel over five days, you hold the purse-strings, right?”
Holly smiled and nodded. “Thanks. I’ll email her and suggest some times for a call tomorrow and contact the conference center for visit dates.”
Back at her desk Holly caught up on email which was now running at about thirty a day, of which she could ignore at least half. The phone rarely rang, if ever, although staff did text her mobile now and again and the internal IM system was flourishing. She dropped by Sean’s desk and discussed the review of the previous year and asked whether there were any issues that she needed to be aware of for the November conference. He shrugged and shuffled paper around his desk but only glanced at her once while she stood there. Holly eventually thanked him, returned to her desk and emailed Maggie to set up some time to discuss the event the following day. She wondered about Sean’s attitude but put it down to her presence in the team and his possible resentment at having someone else to report to within Millsum, since he used to report directly to Lloyd.
On Wednesday, Maggie and Holly agreed on a time to chat and at 2pm Holly called her with a list of issues that she thought they ought to cover.
“Maggie, I have a list of things here but is there anything that you want to mention right away?” asked Holly.
“Well, one thing Holly, and that’s when you’re planning on a preliminary visit to Atlanta. If I can, I’d like to be there to do the walk-though with you as that would make sure we’re in complete sync, right?”
“Yes, that would be great to meet before the conference, I agree. How about the first week of July?”
“Hang on,” said Maggie. “Yes, what about arriving on the 6th? I don’t think Andrew will be able to make it but I can.”
“That would work. I’d get there early on the 6th and leave on the 7th in the early evening,” said Holly, smiling at the thought of her first business trip.
“Done. Can I leave it to you to book the two rooms with hotel management?”
“Sure, I’ll confirm in email later today. So on my list I have catering, VIP Guests, complimentary services for attendees and staffing,” said Holly.
“So, let’s start with catering,” said Maggie. They ran through previous conferences and confirmed or modified those arrangements for the November event. Holly took notes on the conversation as did Maggie, and they ran back over all their decisions at the end of their one hour call.
“OK, sounds like we’re in sync,” said Holly, saving the minutes on her laptop. “Thanks so much for your time Maggie, and I’ll see you in a few weeks in Atlanta. I’ll plan on getting there mid-morning, at the hotel.”
“OK, thank you too, see you soon. Hey, and don’t forget your bathing suit, it’s gonna be scorching down there in a few weeks!”
Chapter 3
At the end of her second week at Millsum, Holly felt that she had made a good choice in joining the firm, but reflected on the fact that she hadn’t heard very much back from any of the other applications she had sent off. On Friday evening she went to the supermarket and with bubbling expectation, sat in the car park and pulled up her bank account, squealing with delight when she saw that her pay had been deposited the night before. She moved a portion of it over to savings then skipped into the shop, grabbed a trolley and smiled at the fact that she could afford (but didn’t necessarily need) almost everything in the shop. An hour later she was home but as she placed her purchases in her cupboard it occurred to her that things like coffee and tea had been used and unless her memory was faulty it could only mean that Suzy was helping herself. Suzy was a quiet girl and to Holly’s knowledge had never invited anyone, male or female, back to the house. She stayed in her room most of the time and rarely came down to use the TV in the lounge. She w
ould have to have a word with her and the thought of her taking things without replacing them made her wonder if she had snooped around her room.
She made coffee and grabbed two oversized cookies, deciding to make a salmon salad later that evening. In her room she placed the coffee by her bed, shut the door and unbuttoned her blouse, folding it carefully then laying it on her bed. Her bra was next which she unclipped and threw on top of her blouse. She cupped her breasts, pushing them up so that her nipples pointed at the window. She slid the zip down on her skirt and let it fall to the floor before kicking it towards her wardrobe. Rolling her stockings down her legs she ran her hands over the skin, smoothing it, please with the fact that she had yet to shave her legs and dreaded the day that it became necessary. She turned to face the door, bent forward and with great drama, slowly slid her knickers down to her knees before cupping her pussy and sighing with the feeling of the release of a little tension. She walked towards her desk with her coffee, one leg directly in front of the other, as though she was on a catwalk, so that her knickers fell to the floor unaided. Holly smiled at the ritual which she had performed far more recently as a result of both being with Ricky and having a rewarding job. She put the coffee by her screen and brushed both hands up over her thighs and pussy, squeezing her lips between her palms, then up again over the flat of her stomach before brushing her long hair out of the way so she could squeeze her tight little breasts. Rather than making her feel relaxed it only served to remind her that Ricky was at least two weeks and five thousand miles away and her need to communicate outweighed the risk of waking him, he would understand. She sat in her desk chair facing the window, put her feet either side of the keyboard and texted her man, not expecting a reply as it was around 3 am in Germany. As she pressed the return icon she slid the phone over her pussy as though sending him a most intimate message. It occurred to her that she could send him a picture of herself naked in the chair but decided that she really didn’t want a picture of his cock in return.
